Our Social Programme

A number of social events have been organised exclusively for IUFoST delegates.
These can all be booked through the registration form.


IUFoST Welcome Reception

The IUFoST welcome reception will take place in the exhibition hall of the RDS. This will allow delegates the opportunity to make acquaintance and catch up with old friends in a relaxed environment.

Join your colleagues on a fun run around the UCD campus and support two very worthy causes. Click here for more information.

Optional Irish Night

Delegates will have the opportunity to take part in an optional Irish evening in the highest pub in Ireland, sampling Irish food and entertainment at its best.

Tickets cost €75 per person including return transport from the conference venue. Tickets can be purchased on the registration form.






IUFoST Gala Dinner

The IUFoST gala dinner will take place in the Round Room at the Mansion House. The Round Room was built in 1821 for the much anticipated visit of King George IV.
For nearly 200 years the Round Room has continued making history and has been the venue of choice for historic events in Irish history - such as the proclamation of the Irish Declaration of Independence.
On this night delegates will be treated to a sumptuous meal, followed by entertainment which will prove to be a memorable experience for all.

Optional Tours

Dublin City
Sightseeing Tour


Explore Dublin City with iconic red buses -City Sightseeing Dublin. Enjoy our open top hop on hop off bus tour of Dublin and stop at all of Dublin city’s great Attractions. This fun and friendly 90-minute tour departs every 8 to 20 minutes throughout the day and stops along the primary tour route include Trinity College, the Guinness Storehouse, Dublin Castle, St Patrick’s Cathedral, Kilmainham Gaol and the Old Jameson Distillery, CrokePark and Glasnevin Cemetery.

Malahide Castle and Coastal Tour


Escape to the coast –spend a half day exploring Howth village and Malahide Castle. Escape the city on one of the most popular half day tours from Dublin. Stopping first at the grounds of Malahide Castle you can enjoy a live-guided tour of the refurbished castle and wander the majestic castle grounds, one of Dublin’s best suburb attractions. Visit the local craft shops or relax over a coffee & pastry. Then travel along the scenic coastal drive to the picturesque fishing village of Howth.

Wicklow Mountains Tour


See Wicklow’s top natural beauty spots and experience the warmest of Irish hospitality on a day full of fun. The stunning scenery of the Wicklow Mountains tour route includes a stop at Glencree Valley, photo stops at the Guinness Lakes, the PS I Love you Bridge, the bog lands and heather fields of the Sally gap and Glendalough. Situated in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains, the 10th century monastic round tower settlement in Glendalough is the jewel in the crown of the Wicklow Mountains Tour. Offering up leisurely (or more challenging) walkways to the lower and upper lakes, Glendalough is a must see for any visitor to Ireland. For a lunch spot with a difference the Wicklow Mountains Tour stops at a Traditional Irish Pub in the Wicklow Mountains area.

Newgrange Tour


This unique day tour attraction includes a guaranteed guided visit to Newgrange, the UNESCO World heritage site, dated 3,200BC and one of the oldest Neolithic burial chambers in Europe (predating the Egyptian pyramids!) The journey through ancient Ireland continues onto the Hill of Tara, seat of the Irish High Kings. Your last stop is at the small fishing village of Howth. At Howth Summit we save the best until last –with spectacular views looking out over Dublin Bay –before heading back to the city via the coastal route.
