The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) supports programmes and projects to increase the safety and security of the world’s food supply. The theme of this year’s World Congress is “Greening the Global Food Supply Chain through Innovation in Food Science and Technology” and is being hosted by the Institute of Food Science and Technology of Ireland (IFSTI). It takes place in Dublin, Ireland from August 21st to August 25th.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Welcome Letter

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to IUFoST 2016 Dublin –the 18th World Congress of Food Science and Technology. With over 500 different organizations represented from over 65 countries, this truly embodies an unparalleled global collaboration of the brightest minds in Food Science, Research and Innovation.
We have assembled a congress with over 1,350 accepted abstracts, all of which were critically-peer-reviewed and of really high standard. Over 5 exciting days, we have 80 sessions planned, in which over 250 scientific, industry and policy experts will be sharing new findings, practical experiences and lessons learned in their respective fields. These highly stimulating sessions will cover topics which are of global interest and thought provoking. As well as expert panel discussions such as the Food Industry Leadership Forum, we have special sessions covering the grand challenges facing food production and manufacture.

Distinguished Lecturer

Professor Gibney

IUFoST is delighted to announce that this year’s distinguished lecturer is Prof. Mike Gibney.
Professor Gibney has worked as a teaching fellow at the University of Sydney where he took his PhD and has lectured at University of Southampton, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.
